Where were you born? I was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts and spent a few years there before moving to Mt. Laurel, New Jersey for most of my childhood. After New Jersey, I spent my teenage years in Greenville, North Carolina.
What did you want to be you grew up? I always wanted to be an elementary school teacher, which I actually did for three years after I graduated college (my little brother was an unwilling student, but he did just fine)! For one year in college I thought I wanted to work in the medical field, but quickly switched back to education. I was a camp counselor in college, which led me to a love for the YMCA.
What are your favorite hobbies? I love spending time with my family and friends, especially if we can be outside. I enjoy visiting the beach whenever I have the chance. I also enjoy running and reading (when I find the time).
What are you most looking forward to in Y Guides? I’ve worked in summer camp for almost 10 years now and have loved the excitement around camp and getting to know campers and their families. I know that camp is a special, magical place. I can’t wait to see the magic that happens at Y Guides with dads and their kids together at camp!
If you could visit anywhere, where would you go? Send me to a tropical island!
What's the most important thing you've learned in life? Hard work and doing the right thing are keys to success.
