Chief's Challenge 2019

Chief Flying Squirrel invites you to join him in the 2019 Chief’s Challenge. He’s asking you to “Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti” to those in your life. This challenge is inspired by Bob Goff, author of Love Does and Everybody Always. What does it mean to “Throw Kindness Around like Confetti?”

For dads, maybe it’s an act of patience after a long day at work. For kids, maybe it’s helping a friend with an assignment at school. Imagine what our community could look like if everyone would “Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti!”

Your challenge is this: Kids, think of ways to show kindness to your dad. Dads, think of ways to show kindness to your kid. Then working together, show kindness to your family, your tribe, and the broader community. Compete the Chief’s Challenge sheet to track the different ways you are showing kindness to others. Bring your completed Chief's Challenge sheet to your Spring Outing to receive a special Chief’s Challenge patch.

Join Chief Flying Squirrel, the Nation’s Officers, the Long Bow Council, and the Y Guides staff as active stewards of this program. Take an active role in the Chief’s Challenge and share what you’re doing with your child with us through social media.  Use the hashtag #YGuidesKindness on social media and log your tribe’s efforts via the Chief's Challenge sheet.
