Brown Bag Ministry

The Brown Bag Ministry prepares and distributes 225 brown bag lunches to the homeless every Saturday at Moore’s Square in downtown Raleigh and they could use your help!

Brown Bag Ministry is once again providing Thanksgiving Meals to local families living in poverty. It is their hope that groups can help them reach our goal by providing 50 meals. They are providing meals to many Hispanic families this year. In light of that they have adjusted the menu a bit. In place of potatoes, stuffing, and turkey we will provide rice, beans, and chicken.

Autism Society of North Carolina

Improve lives and support families with just a few hours of your time by volunteering with ASNC. You or your group can volunteer for one-time events around North Carolina and recurring opportunities in our offices or at Camp Royall, outside Pittsboro. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. In general, volunteers do not work directly with individuals on the autism spectrum.

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle

Looking for a super fun way to spend a Saturday that is also a service project to fight hunger in the Triangle? Look no further! The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is inviting Y Guides to participate in their annual American Tobacco Duck Race this by helping them find people willing to “adopt” rubber duckies and race them down the Old Bull River at the American Tobacco Campus. $10 a duck will support forty meals for needy individuals.

Relay for Life

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity, offering everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams camp out and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

The Miracle League of the Triangle

There’s something about the game of baseball that lights up a child’s eyes. It’s an experience that every child deserves. And through The Miracle League, it’s an experience that every child can enjoy. Designed exclusively for children with special needs, The Miracle League is the first of its kind. The rules are simple. Everyone hits. Everyone gets on base. And everyone crosses home plate. Won’t you consider getting in the action and helping a child play the greatest game of our nation’s history?
