Captain's Challenge 2025
This year’s Captain’s Challenge is all about Being Bold and Being Different!
What does that mean?
It’s about stepping outside your comfort zone and doing things you wouldn’t normally do—like trying squid for the first time or picking up a guitar to learn a new song. To complete this year’s Captain’s Challenge, Big Guides and Little Guides must tackle one activity in each category. Finish all tasks by your Spring Outing, and earn the exclusive Captain’s Challenge patch at Camp Seagull or Camp Seafarer.
For 2024-25, we challenge you to try four new things across these categories:
1. Food
• Taste a food you’ve never tried before.
2. Experiences
• Visit a new place, whether it’s a National or State Park, or even another country.
3. Cultural
• Explore a different culture by attending a cultural festival or visiting a community you’re unfamiliar with.
4. Friends
• Introduce yourself to someone new or make a friend you might not have connected with before.
This challenge is about embracing the new, expanding your perspective, and discovering the excitement that comes with boldness and curiosity. Go out there and make it happen!
Also, if you see Captain Bald Eagle out and about, please be sure to share stories of your bold new experiences with him.
