Focus on Impact, Not on Admin

Summer has officially started and that means it's time to start planning for a new season of Y Guides! Whether you're a rising first-year in the process of joining a new tribe or you're a rising second- or third-year making plans for the invitation to your next tribe meeting, there's a lot to look forward to during the 2019-2020 Y Guides year. We cannot wait to see you!

The Y Guides staff team is dedicated to providing a program that allows fathers, sons and daughters to spend intentional, impactful time with one another. It’s through these shared experiences that fathers and their children grow closer and form memories that last a lifetime. That's why we've made a change that will allow fathers to spend more of their time thinking about impact rather than administrative duties.

We're excited to announce that - beginning this year - Y Guides is taking on a new, simpler pricing structure. Father/child pairs will no longer need to deal with the hassle of paying a separate, external price for items like Y Guides vests or lanterns. Under this new pricing structure, your "membership dues" and your required "program supplies" will now all be wrapped into one Y Guides program fee. As always, fees are based on how many children you have in the program. Dads are free!

First-Year Fee: $278 for YMCA members and $298 for non-members.
Second-Year Fee: $138 for YMCA members and $157 for non-members.
Third-Year Fee: $118 for YMCA members and $137 for non-members.
Trailblazer Fee: FREE

The first-year fee now includes a kit with your YMCA-branded, pre-assembled leather vests and nametags for dad and child. The second-year fee now includes your lantern and the supplies needed to begin building it for the Induction Ceremony at Fall Outing. And, of course, each year's fee includes a program handbook and patches, beads and bear claws for the year.

The process for paying program fees will largely remain the same. First-year dads will continue to turn payment in with their Y Guides Registration Forms at the First-Year Dads Trainings in September. Second- and third-year dads can access their online accounts to make their payments for the upcoming year. Returning participants' payments are due by Friday, Aug. 23.

We look forward to kicking off another great Y Guides season soon!

See you soon!
