Fueling Fitness

Fueling Fitness is a service project with the goal of teaching kids about nutrition and exercise through interactive events. These events are provided by Fueling Fitness volunteers at no cost to Crews and are designed to include interactive stations with fun workouts and nutritious food activities. Fueling Fitness can work with your Crew in adapting events to your needs and interests.

Old Mill Farm Durham

Old Mill Farm is a four-acre farm encompassing interactive areas for kids to learn about and feed farm animals. We also have a pond that has smallmouth bass and brim for you to fish for. 

If your Crew is looking for an opportunity to learn more about small community farms, their importance, and how farming feeds us all, Old Mill Farm is a great idea for a Crew Outing!

Dad & Daughter tribe activity

Schedule your tribe to meet at a Triangle Area Sport Clips location from 6:30 - 7:30 Sunday evenings* for a Dad & Daughter Hair Clinic.

Dads will learn:

  • How to brush out your daughter's hair... with little pain involved!
  • Techniques for a neat pony tail
  • How to braid

This clinic is for the whole tribe. Have fun with your daughter and earn a patch! Your daughters will LOVE it - moms will too!

Duke Blue Devils

Duke Athletics is excited to welcome the Y Guides of the Triangle to a Blue Devil sporting event here on Campus! From Duke Football at Wallace Wade Stadium to Women's Basketball at Cameron Indoor, the Blue Devils love the support of the Y Guides participants!

Keep an eye on the Y Guides event calendar year-round for exciting opportunities for group outings!

UNC Tar Heels

UNC is excited to host your tribe at a Tar Heel sporting event! From Baseball at Boshamer Stadium to Basketball at the Smith Center and Carmichael Arena, the Heels love the support of Y Guides participants. Some events include a patch!

Keep an eye on the Y Guides event calendar all year round for opportunities to spend time with the Tar Heels!

Poyner YMCA

The Poyner YMCA presents a unique opportunity to help your tribe explore Downtown Raleigh. Start and end your outing at the Poyner YMCA's Community Room. Located on Fayetteville St., the Y is within walking distance of many popular downtown destinations and activities, including:

  • Online Scavenger Hunt
  • Marbles Kids Museum
  • Contemporary Art Museum
  • NC Museums of History & Natural Science
  • NC Capitol & Legislative Buildings
  • Moore Square
  • Artspace
  • Restaurants, food halls and bakeries

Growga partners with businesses, organizations and schools to bring them unique, all-ages yoga and mindful programming. Tribe Formation Regional Meetups

To help Y Guides participants find their tribes ahead of the 2019-2020 Y Guides year, the Y Guides team is hosting "Regional Meetups" at YMCA branches throughout the Triangle. These meetups are a great opportunity to get to know other Y Guides in your area in a face-to-face setting, build connections with one another and begin the process of forming your new tribe

Dates and locations

Y Guides Regional Meetups will take place on Sunday, Aug. 11 from 5 - 6 p.m. at the following locations:

Poyner YMCA (Downtown Raleigh)
Taylor Family YMCA (Cary)
Kerr Family YMCA (Wake Forest/Northeast Raleigh)
YMCA at Meadowmont (Chapel Hill)
